  1. I couldn't believe how expensive this album was when I got it on CD. I don't know if Rhythm of the Night and Who's Holding Donna Now are worth the inflated price, but glad to have them in my collection of music. El's solo album was equally pricey.

    1. Why were the prices so high? I assume it is out of print now, but you would think there would have been a bunch of these pressed during the initial release?

    2. Unless an artist was explosively hot in the 80's, a lot of record labels didn't produce high quantities of CD's. The format was expensive for both the label and consumers, and vinyl was still the preferred format, with cassettes being slightly behind them.

Once CD's overtook vinyl in sales, more labels took notice and started mass producing them. A lot of the older pressings of CD's, 1982 - 1985 have a tendency to be rarer than others, but again, it was mainly based on the artist. You'll obviously find a ton of copies of Michael Jackson's Thriller on CD, but you won't find as many Melissa Manchester's Hey Ricky.

  2. The local Top 40 station played this incessantly, to the point where it's permanently engraved in my noggin. Good thing its so catchy and appealing.
