While I won't profess to be a fan of Musical Youth, their song, Pass The Dutchie, is classic to the 80's. It's a shame that their two albums, The Youth Of Today (1982), and Different Style (1983), were never released on CD. Lost pop culture.

DeleteFirst heard this song when the group performed it on SNL in 1983 (with host Joan Rivers (!)).
ReplyDeleteIt's also heard briefly in the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie, but doesn't show up on the soundtrack album. Oddly, it's appearance in that film isn't even mentioned on the song's Wiki page, while it's placement in Stranger Things is.
Hmmm...that is a strange occurrence! Better get the Mystery Inc. team on the case!
