Throw on your tie dye shirt, cut your hair in the fresh dreadlock style and hit the dancehall as we take you back! Without further ado, here is the 20 Years Before 2000 THROWBACK JAM OF THE WEEK...
Artist: Salt-n-Pepa
Song: Push It
Album:  Hot, Cool & Vicious (1987)

Bonus Fun Fact: The album this song was on went platinum, marking the first time a female rap artist/group would do so. The whispering of the words "Push It" are sampled from the Coal Kitchen song "Keep On Pushin'".

  1. Another bonus fact: Push It wasn't on the initial release of this album which originally came out in 1986. It was first released as a single in 1987. The version which appears on the album, which was added during later pressings, is technically a remix.
