Throwback Jam of the Week: 5/10/21

Throw on your Ruffled Shirt and head to Paisley Park as we take you back to the 80's! Without further ado, here is the 20 Years Before 2000 THROWBACK JAM OF THE WEEK!!

Artist: Prince & The Revolution
Song: Kiss
Album: Parade (1986)
Peak Billboard Hot 100 Position: 1
Bonus Fun Fact: This song was originally written for funk band Mazarati, but Prince decided to make a few changes and finish the song himself. This song earned Prince a Grammy for "Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals" and the video features Revolution guitarist Wendy Melvoin.

  1. Parade is such an under appreciated album! Under The Cherry Moon, the film, well, that gets all the razz it deserves. But the music is spot on! Experimental in style for Prince, but at the same time, capturing his familiar sound. About the only thing I don't like about it was that it was the end of The Revolution.

    1. That is why I enjoy listening to Prince's stuff so much! He changes directions and does it well. Every album has a different sound or different vision, so you never get bored listening to his music.

    3. I had not heard that! Very cool! Next time I'm in Minnesota, I'm going to try and convince my wife to go on a tour of his Paisley Park home!

    5. That is AWESOME! I heard that you can even record a song in his studio, for a hefty fee I'm sure! Still cool to have that opportunity though!!!
